Janette Manrara

Born in Miami, FL, into a fun filled and loving Cuban family, Janette Manrara was set out from a young age to be a performer. 

She began in a musical theatre school (MDA) when she was 12, taking acting, singing, and dance classes. Through the schools involvement with Univision TV, Janette was able to experience working on television as a child, making appearances on the hispanic, record breaking TV Game show Sabado Gigante. It was being on television from a young age, that developed the natural charm and charisma that Janette exposes in front of a camera today. 

Janette attended the school until she was 19. Then she moved studios and began classes at DanceTown. Focusing strictly on dancing, Janette began taking jazz, ballet, pointe, flamenco, hip hop, and partnering classes. It was here, under the direction of the USA based and very popular dance couple, Manuel & Lory Castro, that Janette became a strong and versatile dancer. 

Janette decided to audition to be a part of the hit FOX TV show, So You Think You Can Dance?. When Season 5 of the show came along, Janette was selected to be in the Top 20 dancers, and was a stand-out from the first episode. She made it all the way to top 4 girls, and after went on a 3-month USA tour with the show as well. 

Moving from Miami to LA, Janette performed with Jennifer Lopez, on the 2010 Academy Awards (The Oscars), and was also cast as a principal dancer on the TV sensation Glee as a member of "Vocal Adrenaline" (Seasons 1 & 2). She then returned to So You Think You Can Dance?, Season 8 as an “All Star”, and shortly after got cast as a dancer in the theater show of Dancing with the Stars Live in Las Vegas

Leading on from this, Janette then spent the next 4 years touring on the Broadway & international show, Burn the Floor. There she perfected her Latin and Ballroom with world champions Jason Gilkison & Peta Roby. 

It was when the show came to the West End in London, that the producers of the BBC1 TV Series, Strictly Come Dancing, spotted her passionate performance and quality dancing. Shortly after this she was cast as a professional dancer for Season 11 becoming a one of the nations favourite, and continues to perform on the live shows and the cruise tour. 

It is evident in Janette's story that performing is truly her biggest passion! With her versatility, dedication, and star quality performances, Janette became one of the hottest working dancers in the entertainment business. She continues to performing in theatre shows, TV shows, cruise ships, and corporate events around the globe.
