Alya Mooro

Egyptian born, London raised freelance journalist and blogger Alya Mooro encapsulates the nuanced millennial woman.
Following an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Psychology, Alya undertook a Masters in Journalism, which lead to a flourishing career as a freelance journalist. She writes for publications including The Washington Post, The Telegraph, Grazia, The Debrief and Refinery29 on subjects ranging from fashion to heavier social issues.
This, combined with her diverse and eclectic sense of style, which sees Alya blend vintage elements from her grandmother’s wardrobe with expertly curated high street and high fashion finds, aids in proving intelligence can, and does, come fashionably packaged.
Alongside her journalism, Alya runs fast growing blog, a fashion, lifestyle and social commentary platform which has readers in a diverse array of countries, including the UK, United States, Russia, Egypt and India. She has over 11 thousand followers on her verified Instagram account.
Through personal style features styled and directed by Alya herself for, Alya has had the opportunity to develop her love for modelling, an interest that had been present, and blossoming, ever since she was a child.
Alya soon began to be approached by a number of brands including adidas, Preen and Three Floor, who recognise her ability to appeal to both a high end and an urban market. Earlier this year, Alya featured alongside some of London’s most influential females in a video campaign for G-Star Raw.
